September 25th, 2023 was day one of Big Ridge Voodoo Magic’s reign of our fold. He is widely recognized as the top bull of the breed.

We are excited to have him out west and to start shaping our fold into the top standards and genetics of the breed.

Magic exhibits all of the important traits of the Scottish Highland Cattle Standard. His excellently level top line combined with his strong muscular neck, broad short head, low wide horn set, and bushy forelock complement a thick, slightly wavy coat.

Magic exhibits all of the important traits of the Scottish Highland Cattle Standard. Magic’s excellently level top line combined with his strong muscular neck, broad short head, low wide horn set, and bushy forelock complement a thick, slightly wavy coat. He was purposefully bred to be a herd sire to improve Maternal Characteristics, Feet, Conformation, and Substance/Mass.

Magic started breeding at 12 months old and his calves are consistently between 50-60 pounds and often exceed the growth of other larger calves.

Voodoo Magic’s girthy thighs, thick shoulders, and short, strong legs give an overall balance that exemplifies perfect conformity to Scottish Standards.

Big Ridge Voodoo Magic is a calm, easy-to-handle, patient bull whose calves average 55#, deliver unaided, nurse unassisted, and grow at a rapid rate, often outgaining their peers by 100+ pounds at weaning.

Magic was carefully bred to produce black and red calves with sound feet, tight udders, and gentle temperament.
