It has been a relatively mild winter. Cold, but really light snow. Our cows are doing great. We’ve supplemented their forage with alfalfa and corn/oats on occasion. Adding the creep feeder has really launched our calves growth exponentially, and given the mama cows some welcome relief. They burn a lot more calories than usual when cold, so having the creep feeder available for the calves has taken quite a bit of the pressure off them. The weather patterns have been a little sporadic. Some snow will come in, then the next day it will be 50 degrees and most of it will melt. Our cows above here are drinking fresh snowmelt which is about as clear as water gets. Stay frosty.
